Cookies and what we measure

The short version: this marketing site sets no cookies unless you accept them, and the statistics we rely on are counted without any.

What we count without a cookie

We count how many times each product page is opened. That is a number per product per day, plus which kind of place the visit came from — an AI assistant, a search engine, a social site, a link typed straight in, or a crawler.

Nothing is stored on your device to do this, and nothing we keep could pick you out. We work the bucket out from the referring site your browser sends and the user-agent string it identifies itself with, both of which arrive with the request anyway, and then we throw those away and keep only the tally. We do not keep the referring address itself, because a search or chat URL can carry what somebody typed in it.

Because this identifies nobody and stores nothing on your device, it needs no consent, and turning cookies down does not switch it off.

Cookies this site sets

tank_consentRemembers your answer to the cookie banner, so it stops asking.12 monthsNo — it only exists to record a choice you made

That is the whole list for tank.chat. If we ever add an analytics cookie, it will appear in this table before it is set, and it will only be set if you accept.

Cookies in the app

Signing in at app.tank.chat sets a session cookie so the app knows it is you between requests. It is strictly necessary: without it there is no way to stay signed in, so it is set when you sign in rather than when you accept anything. It is cleared when you sign out.

Changing your mind

Your answer lives in the tank_consent cookie. Clear your cookies for this site and the banner will ask again. You can also decline and keep using everything here: nothing on this site depends on a cookie.

Who else sees anything

No advertising networks, no third-party analytics, no tracking pixels, and nothing embedded from a social network. Fonts are served from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.gstatic.com to fetch them; that request carries your IP address, as any request for a file does, and we receive nothing from it.
